AHM - JBA Tech corner #5
Welcome to Tech Corner #5, part of our informational series where you'll learn about tech concepts, products, and integrations to sharpen your skills and grow your business.
Allen & Heath's AHM is a family of powerful Audio Matrix Processors supported by a comprehensive ecosystem of scalable I/O, control and Dante solutions.

Designed to excel in corporate, retail, hospitality and education environments, AHM matrix processors allow integrators to quickly create systems that build from a single boardroom to a complete campus.
The AHM-64 provides audio distribution, speaker processing, and more. The installed Dante I/O card allows the AHM to connect to the DT164-W, perfect for establishments that feature live entertainment.

The DT164-W provides 16 microphone preamps and 4 line outputs in a versatile wall-mount design for permanent installation. It offers acclaimed Allen & Heath preamps, complete with 96kHz converters for best-in-class sound quality over Dante, plus Primary and Secondary ports for daisy-chain or redundancy through secure EtherCon connectors. All of the inputs are controlled via software.

DT Preamp Control software allows remote control of multiple DT expanders, and enables the use of DT expanders with Dante equipped 3rd party digital mixers and sound management systems. For fully customizable control of the entire system, users can create unique user interfaces using Allen & Heath's Custom Control App.
Custom Control is a customizable, cross-platform control app, providing elegant, bespoke control over any AHM system. Integrators can freely design multiple user interfaces, tailored to different user levels and/or device types. For example, a bartender can be presented with a simple phone interface, while the AV operator can access uncluttered levels and routing on their tablet, but more comprehensive control when using their laptop.
The IP1 is a simple yet powerful programmable wallplate, giving the non-technical user convenient, easy control. It interfaces with the AHM matrix processor for music source selection, level control, and recalling presets. The IP controls and functions are configured using AHM System Manager.
The intuitive AHM System Manager software and AHM’s flexible architecture allow rapid configuration, with no certified programming training required. AHM matrix processors strike a balance between the simplicity and set latency of fixed architecture, and the flexibility normally reserved for open architecture platforms, allowing them to handle sound management, paging, audio distribution, conferencing and speaker processing roles.

The Assign View is a zoomable matrix view for I/O and routing, with optional level and mute indication, and including Tieline patching and Zone to Zone routing for unparalleled flexibility.
AHM can serve as the central hub in several different applications.
